I can’t wait for this! Both of Blake’s books have helped me - and my students - immeasurably, so I anticipate that this book will be as inspirational and indispensable as the first two!

I’m really looking forward to reading it, but I’m sure (like everyone else) it’s going to be very strange reading it, knowing Blake is gone. I’m looking forward to the second reading more - guessing I’ll be able to focus more on the content after an initial read-through.

Thanks so much for releasing a chapter early and throwing a Cat a bone…er, fish! I’ve been waiting impatiently for the book to come out. The memorial was lovely BTW. The tag with Blake’s picture is hanging next to my desk.

You can pre-order at The Writer’s Store. They give a release date on the website of 11/21. I’m really looking forward to reading it. Chapter 3 was great! And I feel like Blake is still here somehow when I read his words.

Oh, that chapter is tantalizing! Blake’s skill at cutting to the heart of the matter still shines though. The stuff in just this little bit helped me do some further story-sorting on a script I’m currently working on.

Just wanted to pass the word that the STC! iPhone app is now available in the iTunes store. I’ve just gotten to tinker with it a little so far but I’m amazed by it. It was designed really well and I’m completely convinced this is going to be an incredible help. It’s worth buying an iPhone or an iPod touch just to be able to have the STC! tools right in your pocket.

Thanks for the sample chapter and again, Blake has opened up the world of storytelling beyond the borders and high-level security access world of screenwriting. His ideas float and hover over all the boundaries of writing and I’m thankful to be here now in this place to experience his magic elixir that will help me finish my hero’s journey…..

Blake was (and still is) the most amazing teacher on the subject ever. Curse the fact that I live in the north of England so never got chance to go to any of his seminars and now it’s too late. Just from his first book he has literally taught me everything I know about screenwriting, when this arrives I guess I’ll know a lot more.

My only quibble is overreach. Generally, what you say is correct (although Aristotle said it a long time ago). When you go too specific, I take exception.
“…you will never evade the principles that come by conquering structure — for until we find a way to live on Earth without lessons on how to do it, we’re going to be stuck with storytelling principles all writers must master.
We’re going to be stuck with structure.”
Fine and well, until you make it about a specific series of steps (as you subsequently do). Structure is fine, but YOUR structure is where we may have some argument.
